What TubePilot does
TubePilot is a native macOS application that watches folders selected by the user, uploads completed video files to the user's authorized YouTube account, and provides video and playlist management.
Data processed locally
The app may store settings, watched-folder rules, upload queue and history, cached YouTube metadata, deferred edits, conflict data and security-scoped folder bookmarks in the user's macOS account. Google OAuth refresh tokens are stored in macOS Keychain. Access tokens are temporary and are not intentionally written to disk.
Google and YouTube data
When the user connects YouTube, TubePilot sends requests to Google's OAuth and YouTube APIs to perform the requested features: read channel, video and playlist metadata; upload videos; and apply confirmed video, playlist and playlist-membership changes. TubePilot does not run a proxy or sell Google user data.
Limited use
TubePilot uses Google API data only to provide the user-facing features described in the app. It does not use that data for advertising, profiling, credit decisions or unrelated analytics, and does not transfer it to third parties except as necessary to provide the requested Google/YouTube operation or as required by law.
Files and deletion
The app accesses only folders the user configures. Depending on explicit settings and successful safety checks, a source file may be kept, moved, sent to Trash or permanently deleted. Disconnecting removes the locally stored refresh credential; the user can remove local settings and history using macOS storage controls.
Updates and telemetry
TubePilot checks its signed Sparkle appcast over HTTPS when update checks are enabled. It does not currently include its own analytics, advertising telemetry, cookies or TubePilot cloud account.
Third-party services
Google/YouTube and GitHub-hosted update assets process requests under their own terms and policies. TubePilot is not affiliated with Google or YouTube.
Contact
For support and privacy questions, use the Support page and the private contact route described there. Do not post tokens or private video data in public issues.
Policy changes
This policy will be updated if TubePilot adds materially different data processing, telemetry or cloud services.
